North Atlantic Right Whale Tangled At Sea
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans reported sighting another North Atlantic right whale ensnared in fishing gear in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, specifically near the Magdalen Islands. The observation occurred approximately 56 miles northwest of Etang du Nord port. The agency evaluated various disentanglement strategies, given the whale’s remote location.
