Aero L-29 Delfin – Cost: $175,000

The Czechoslovakian aircraft manufacturer Aero Vodochody helped develop and build the L-29 Delfín, a common jet-propelled trainer. It had its first flight in 1959. Shortly after, the Warsaw Pact nations chose the L-29 as its standard trainer. Aero Vodochdoy made around 3,000 trainers, most delivered to the Soviet Air Force. Manufacturing ceased in 1974 with demand waning after Aero Vodochody released their new trainer, the L-39 Albatros.
